Rashmi, her 2 sisters & grandmom rushed to the hospital only to see her mom breathe her last.
Rashmi’s mom tried to stop 3 drunk boys in a car assault a girl on her scooter on the roads of Delhi. One of the boys pulled out a gun, shot two rounds at her.
This was the first road rage case in Delhi.
The boys absconded.
Rashmi, still a teenager was shaken up by the tragedy. Her mom, a single mom who loved to travel & help everyone around her, was her inspiration. Her grandmother took over, sold off their home to bring up the girls.
A few years later Rashmi met tragedy again with a terrible road accident in 2008. She was in the ICU of a govt hospital for 12 days, this impacted her brain as well. But she did not give up.
After she recovered, she started helping foreign women travellers travelling safely in India. She setup wovoyage in India in 2016 dedicated to safety of woman travellers wovoyage has done hundreds of trips for woman travellers across India & abroad in the first 2 yrs.
Rashmi Chadha’s story is an inspiration.
