How to become a brilliant storyteller ?

posted on December 24th, 2017
This is a question I was asked by Kavya Nair and by so many others ! Here is my humble attempt to answer it. 3 simple steps in my view: 1. Connect to yourself first (this was the toughest one at least for me) – I took a few decades to do this, I must admit I was messed up within. This gives clarity in the writing. It will also give a unique perspective. 2. Connect to others – Have the courage to disclose what you go through within, its tough to talk about your insecurities and fears. Yes, we all have a fear of being judged. Write from our heart. We are all human beings after all. Develop that connect. Embrace the trollers, they need more kindness than anyone else ! 3. Lastly write for a purpose. Don’t write for the sake of it. I tried this for years, failed miserably. So if you are trying to become a brilliant storyteller most probably you will always remain a wannabe. So dont try to become a brilliant storyteller 🙂 Dr. Richard Claydon will be in India to talk on “Alcoholic Leadership”- Bangalore Jan 19.
